Saturday with Brad Paisley

As I began this journey a couple of months ago I knew my goal was to add the details to my life that will make it the life of my dreams. Today was one of those days that truly reflects the life I want to live!

The day started with some time in my garden tending to my flowers while Tiffy played in the the yard. I am working hard to find pleasure in those things that already surround me. Over the years I have planted so many flowers that are there for me to enjoy. Today I saw yard work as an opportunity to enjoy all of those flowers instead of another chore.

Once my time in the yard was done I put on some fun music from one of my Favorite Spotify playlists, An Elegant Affair. Then I enjoyed packing a beautiful picnic to enjoy on our drive to Vancouver. I have a picnic basket that brings me great pleasure and I filled it with beautiful dishes and lines. I have a strange aversion to paper and plastic, weird I know, so I always use real dishes and cloth napkins.

The food was simple, some yummy meat and cheeses, a baguette, fig preserves and gourmet mustard. I also cut up fresh vegetables with hummus and fresh fruit. For dessert we had chocolate brownies. We also enjoyed a bottle of rose from Owen Roe.

Nothing was difficult, but it was a lunch that represents the elegant life I am chasing.

Then it was time to set out on our adventure. We picked up Geoffrey and Lauren and headed off over White Pass. It was a beautiful day on the pass and there were wildflowers in bloom everywhere. We had to stop at the viewpoint of Mt. Rainier and admire the beautiful area we live in.

We then drove on until we found a place for our picnic. We ended up enjoying our meal at Mossy Rock Park. Sitting by the lake we were able to relax, enjoy each others company, and eat. This was so much better then for stopping for fast food somewhere along the way. This is the elegant life I am chasing.

We then headed off to the concert. It was such a beautiful evening for a concert. I actually prefer lawn seating at these event over reserved. I love having a little space around me where I can sit in my chair or stand and dance to the music. This evening offered opportunity for both.

The opening act was Riley Green. I had never seen him perform before, but he was amazing. Next came Chris Lane. I have seen him before and he never disappointments. By the end of his set we were all on our feet dancing and singing along. It was such a blessing to see Geoffrey and Lauren enjoy the show and dance with each other. Young love is such a beautiful thing.

Finally it was time for Brad Paisley. He is amazing. Watching him play the guitar will never get old. I am amused by how many he goes through in a show. His music is a fun mix of dance songs and love songs. He even had Mike up “dancing”. That says a lot. It was fun to dance with my husband, because “old” love is pretty amazing too. I a, blessed that after being together for over 28 years we are more in love then ever.

It was then time for out night to come to an end. It was truly a day that represented the elegant life I am chasing. Now it is time to plan the next page in this journey. Thanks for taking it with me.

Cheers!
